Deck Wash - Level 1
A routine washdown for well-maintained boats.
Service Description
Marina environments constantly expose boats to dust, pollen, and light atmospheric fallout. Even when tied to the dock, decks accumulate a thin layer of debris. Deck Wash Level 1 is a routine boat deck wash designed to safely remove these loose contaminants before they bond with the gelcoat or degrade your existing protective wax. We treat the deck as a functional system. The process begins with a low-pressure fresh water rinse to physically lift loose dirt—because physics always comes before chemistry. Next, we apply an eco-friendly marine detergent using soft-bristle brushes, focusing gently on high-traffic areas. We entirely avoid high-pressure washing to protect caulking and seals. Finally, a thorough top-down rinse is followed by meticulous microfiber drying to ensure no hard water spots bake in the sun. This is a maintenance wash, not a restorative process. It explicitly excludes removing embedded heavy stains, thick black streaks, mold, or gelcoat oxidation. It does not include dedicated vinyl conditioning. When vinyl seating feels sticky or non-skid holds gray shadows, Level 1 is no longer sufficient, signaling an honest handoff to Deck Wash Level 2. FAQ Section • Does this service remove embedded black streaks or mold? No. Level 1 is strictly a routine maintenance wash designed to remove unbonded dirt. Removing embedded grime, mold, or severe staining requires escalating to Deck Wash Level 2 or Level 3. • Do you scrub and condition the vinyl seating during a Level 1 wash? No. We use a gentle marine detergent and soft brushes for a surface-level clean to preserve materials. Dedicated vinyl conditioning and clear enclosure scrubbing are covered in our Level 2 service. • How long does a Deck Wash Level 1 take? It requires 30–45 minutes for an average 30-foot boat, though time varies depending on your specific deck condition and layout.
