Antifouling (ANTF)
Essential protection to limit marine growth and maintain hull performance.
Service Description
Antifouling is a crucial service for boats that remain in the water for extended periods. This process involves applying high-quality antifouling paint to the underwater portion of the hull, significantly limiting the adhesion of marine organisms like algae, barnacles, and slime. While it doesn’t entirely stop growth, it makes it much harder for fouling to stick, keeping your boat's hull cleaner for longer. The application of antifouling requires prior preparation, with Bottom Prep Level 2 (BP02) typically required to ensure proper adhesion of the antifouling paint. Antifouling helps maintain your boat’s speed, fuel efficiency, and overall performance by reducing drag caused by fouling. This process typically takes a minimum of 4 hours for a 30-foot boat, depending on the hull’s condition and prep work.
