Level 2 Enhanced Boat Hull Wash
Thorough hull cleaning to remove grime and buildup along the foul line.
Service Description
The waterline is a magnet for scum, bugs, and organic buildup. Routine rinsing isn't enough once the foul line develops a rough, stubborn layer of grime and black streaks. If ignored, this buildup bakes into the gelcoat and degrades the vessel's overall presentation. Hull Wash Level 2 is an enhanced boat hull wash designed for vessels needing a targeted, physical intervention to safely reset the surface above the waterline. We treat the hull as a highly exposed hydrodynamic system. To address this stubborn grime, we utilize medium-bristle brushes and specialized marine-safe detergents to physically scrub the foul line. Our technicians work meticulously to remove the roughness of algae and organic debris. We strictly use eco-friendly cleaners to protect the surrounding marina environment, followed by a controlled low-pressure rinse to safely float away the loosened contaminants without forcing water where it does not belong. Honesty is our policy: this is strictly a physical cleaning service for the exposed hull. It explicitly excludes underwater marine growth removal, deep gelcoat oxidation correction, and bottom paint preparation. It will not permanently restore shine to heavily faded or chalky fiberglass. Success means your hull is completely clean to the touch. The black streaks are erased, and the white gelcoat is free of rough organic debris. However, if your hull has a dark yellow or brown "lake mustache" tannin stain baked into the fiberglass that physical brushing and standard detergent cannot move, Level 2 is no longer sufficient. At that point, the baseline has shifted, requiring an honest handoff to the intensive chemical decontamination of our Hull Wash Level 3. FAQ Section • Will this service remove the brown "lake mustache" stain on my waterline? No. Level 2 relies on physical scrubbing and detergent, which removes scum and black streaks. Yellow or brown tannin staining requires the targeted chemical decontamination found in our Hull Wash Level 3. • Do you clean the bottom of the boat underwater during this service? No. Hull washes strictly address the fiberglass from the waterline up to the deck. Removing underwater marine growth and slime is covered under our Bottom Prep services. • How long does a Hull Wash Level 2 take? It requires a minimum of 1.5 hours for an average 30-foot boat, depending on the severity of the foul line contamination and dockside access.
