In the beginning there was just a bucket, brush, boat soap and a relentless passion to make a life on the water. On roller skates, “Spike” wheeled all over the GTA. Toronto Outer Harbour Marina, Bluffers Park and Port Credit Harbour were the major destinations in 2003. Deck washes came first, interior detailing next and finally “Spike” earned enough to buy an orbital polisher and some one step wax.

With our third season, moonlighting as a towboat captain and crew came to an end. Consistent service for various brokerages became mainstay.

With a crew of 6, Headquartered from a bachelor apartment in Parkdale with transport provided by Spikes first car, the Limo.

Head office was moved to Windermere Ave. and our service area extended to service east to Whitby and west to Burlington.

A major e-commerce upgrade to our website began to enable all our services and many detailing supplies to be purchased online but far more important was that KUGI joined the crew!

Spike on The Water was incorporated and plans to duplicate our efforts into other regions unfolded.

An amazing year with 12 On The Water crew at peak season, servicing more than 30 boats on seasonal schedule and Spike expanded to include an auto detail shop

Our primary goal became transperancy and sustainability guided by the BCorporation assessment. Our initial score of 46 of 200 set the stage for our first publication of the 2013 Service Catalogue.

The 10 year test, Introduction of the Lyoness Loyalty program, all new “On the Water Crew”,our employee handbook and the first printed publication of our 2014 service catalogue with 2000 copies distributed to marinas, yacht clubs and marine stores all around the GTA.

Our first branded product was introduced to eliminate 90% of our inventory of cleaning chemicals with this one amazing adjustable cleaner name TUG SCRUB. Powerful enough to scrub a tug boat and Spike's GetrDone dillutions make it is safe on windows, mirrors and absolutley safe for any area of your boat or home with a promise to do no harm to our crew or our precious environment.

Welcome “The White Pearl” Our 22 ft. Inflatable introduced the Toronto Islands to consistent access of our services and in water hull services for vessels up to 75 ft. LOA is now possible . The website now mobile ready and “typeform” integration. We also launched “Spike on the water-Tug Scrub” as a ultra Eco conscious  alternative to every other cleaning solution of the past. 

Spike's PT is formualted after a trip to Sweden. There we were connected to a a Canadian company that helped make the trasition from sustainable industrial coatings to marine. It's awesome to be the first to put this stuff to work on the water and elimanate unsustainable wax coating completely!
