Hull Wash Level 3: is where physics fails and chemistry takes over.

In the fresh waters of Ontario, our boats are constantly sitting in a bath of dissolved organic matter. Over the season, this creates a distinct yellow, orange, or brown discoloration along the waterline and the bow wave area. We call it the "Lake Mustache" or the "Muskoka Stain.

Hull Wash Level 2: Manual Scrub for Scum, Bugs & Black Streaks

Success at this level means the hull is clean to the touch. The roughness of the algae is gone, the black streaks are erased, and the white gelcoat is free of organic debris.

Mold spores and mycotoxins are respiratory hazards. Masking them with air fresheners is dangerous. Level 4 matters because it prioritizes the health of the humans on board over the aesthetics of the boat. It is the only way to ensure that when you sleep on board, you aren't breathing in active spores.
